We are graduates, former students, staff and affiliates of TNIMA and the health care community in Liberia and the USA. The
TNIMA Association in a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional healthcare organization incorporated in the State of New Jersey.
a) Standardized healthcare training programs.
b) Provide basic healthcare materials and equipment for the institution’s need.
c) Provide educational opportunities and information dissemination to our members.
d) Seek the welfare of our members.
Our members include Environmental Health Technicians, Laboratory Technicians, Lawyers, License Practical Nurses, Medical
Doctors, Midwives, Physician Assistants, Radiology (X-Ray) Technicians, Registered Nurses and Social Workers.
Objectives are:
- Standardized healthcare training programs.
- Provide basic healthcare materials and equipment for the institution’s need.
- Provide educational opportunities and information dissemination to our members.
- Seek the welfare of our members.
- Coordinate with other organizations and institutions to provide services to our members and TNIMA
The association sprouted from the ideas of nearly every members living in the United States of America as a platform to reach
one another and reflect the glory of our beloved institution. The primary focus is to unify us everywhere in the spirit of reaching
back to our alma mater. Our membership now spans from the USA to Canada, Chad, Germany, Great Britain, Liberia, Norway
and Sweden.
In August 2004, a group of TNIMA graduates; former students and staff spoke with each other about forming a body that will
bring all TNIMA affiliates together. The idea had seeded in the minds of a lot of people for many years but due to
circumstances, a unified body could not be brought into being. Some graduates had even formed themselves into units but
were mostly restricted to those they had acquaintance with e.g., graduated from the same school; attended during the same
time period; or resided close to each other.
Following a meeting of Mrs. Sarah Amara (former Director of the School of Physician Assistant and current member of the
Board of Directors of this Association) with Dorbor Kolubah Kabah, Rufus and Ruth Tartee and other graduates, Jallah Kennedy
was approached about forming a ‘TNIMA group’. Frank Martin, Tarlo Garmo, David Wilson, Moses Yoko, Mitchell Dorbor, Ellen
James, Lewis Weiah, Musu Amara Blama, Argbah Momolu, Garmai Korboi, Nathaniel Dawonde, Catherine Belleh and others
were consulted. Several suggestions were brought forward geared toward establishing a mean that would bring the idea into
being. Telephone mini-conferences were started via individual cells phones and long distance lines. Membership rose
between August 2004 and October 2004 from about 15 persons to 75. Names of graduates, former students and staffs were
shared and contacts made. We have tried to reach everyone for whom contact information are available. So far, only two
persons have declined to join the association. Nationwide (USA) teleconferences began on October 10,2004 and followed
mostly on the second Sunday of each month thereafter. By November 2004, membership had risen to around 150 including 6
persons from Canada, Sweden, Norway, UK and Germany. Some graduates from Europe and Liberia, including Mr. John
Dorbor (the current Registrar of TNIMA) served as participants during one or more of the conference calls. Current membership
listing is over 330. Please review the membership listing. There are many members for whom contact information are not
available. If you need information about any of the names or to give information about other graduates, please contact us by
clicking on the CONTACT US page.
Considering the diversity of members and the need to include everyone, the group was named the TNIMA Association. This
incorporates all graduates, former students and staffs. Associate and honorary membership was also created to include other
health workers as well as the spouses of members and those with vested interest in the Association and the healthcare
educational system in Liberia and beyond.
In order to create other means of mass communications, bulk email listings were created which currently contains 144 persons.
This was followed by the purchasing of this website. The website has become a proliferate means of communication and
interaction. Our official email address is tnimamembers@tnima.org.
The costs associated with the formation, organization and travel has been exclusively voluntary.
It is our hope that we will work together to organized this association in order to have an impact on activities at our alma mater,
TNIMA. We will also be able to have a unified voice when dealing with the institution for documentations PARTICULARLY
TRANSCRIPTS AND VERIFICATIONS for such procedures as NURSING STATE BOARD REGISTRATION, COLLEGE
APPLICATIONS and EXCHANGES amongst others.
Please make it your utmost effort to reach other members so that we can continue to have massive participations since crucial
decisions are being made.
The pictures of Jallah Kennedy and David Wilson are shown below. We hope that others will provide their photo(s) in order to
create a photo gallery. If you are sending your photo, please include some basic information such as years of
attendance/graduation and your name at that time, some classmates, your school, and any other biographic information.
Please mail your information to:

We received donation of Nursing and several other healthcare professional information magazines from Merion
Publications Inc. , the publisher of ADVANCE which is a reputable source of current and research news. For details about
this organization, please click on this link www.advanceweb.com
We hope to develop future partnership with this organization to assist student in not only Liberia with cutting-edge
information, but other healthcare professionals in the rest of the African region. Our appreciation to Hyun Kim, who is
currently our contact person with ADVANCE.
As many of you are aware, we provided a great and needy assistance to the students of TNIMA in 2006 with donation of 300 chairs. The chairs were extremely needed
at the time for the functioning of the school. IMAGINE YOURSELF ENTERING A CLASS WITH THE ZEAL TO LEARN TO CATER TO THE SICK, INFIRM and the
general populace BUT NO CHAIR TO SIT ON FOR 2-3 HOURS…. We assisted to make a difference at that time.
We have also assisted the faculty with some training that could be utilized for future learning activities when computers are available.
THE TASK ON HAND NOW is to assist with LEARNING USING UPDATED MATERIALS, LEARNING AIDS AND COMPUTERS TO INCREASE THE LEARNING
CAPACITY OF STUDENTS. The changing times in every country dictates adaptation and greater levels of assimilation. Other institutions, even in Liberia are
following the wind of change. TNIMA, as the rest of the public sector institutions in Liberia have EXTREMELY LIMITED resource. WHAT THEY HAVE IN
ABUNDANCE ARE THE WILL-POWERS, THE PROFESSIONALISM AND THE FORTITUDE IN THIS GREAT PERIOD OF ‘ARIDITY’ AND ‘DISENCHANTMENT’. The
staffs of TNIMA and the entire JFK administration remains highly committed to the functioning of the school. It is time that we HELP again. Believe it or not, the
LITTLE YOU CAN AFFORD TO OFFER CAN MAKE BIG DIFFERENCES. More on this later…..
Please bring in your suggestions as to how we can carry on this noble task.
